COVID-19 and Ministry at LPCC
April 4, 2020
Hey all, just a quick weekly update. There really isn’t any change for this week. We will still have all of our services online vie Facebook Live. We hope you will join us as we move into Holy Week. Also, we are planning on doing a live devotion everyday this week as we look at some of the events of the week.
As always, we are here to serve you – if you need anything let us know. We will be more than happy to pray for/with you and to help out in any way we can.
We love you and are praying for your safety.

*In short, we will be having services ONLINE ONLY starting tomorrow March 29th. Morning Service to begin broadcasting promptly at 11AM and our prayer service promptly at 6PM. Please read through for more information on current ministry activities and opportunities when you have time.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Your LifePoint pastors and families wanted to give an update on all things LPCC.
First off, our hearts are with all of you as you continue to stay at home. This is a difficult time for all of us, and we pray that you have continued patience and calm as COVID-19 progresses. We would like to encourage you to pray earnestly for your families, friends and neighbors, especially those working in essential positions where interactions with the public is unavoidable. Our medical professionals are preparing and/or already working through the fight of their lives as their resources and schedules are stressed to their limits. We want to join them in prayer that God would give them strength and protection as they do their selfless work. We hope that they would take the assurance of Isaiah 26: 3-4 which says “Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace—because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock.”.
It is with a strong sense of responsibility and care for our flock that we have chosen to close the services going forward. It was not an easy decision, but we believe in order to protect the city that which we have been called to, we need to do our part to socially distance. This does not mean that the doors are closed. If there is a specific need in which meeting with your pastoral staff is required, please contact us directly and we will make sure to arrange the necessary time.
We will be livestreaming all church services through Facebook Live as we have in the past. We are working on upgrading our equipment to allow for a better more cohesive experience online. This includes both the Sunday Morning Service as well as the 6pm Prayer Service. We want to join you in prayer during our isolation so to assist with the order of the prayer service, we ask that all prayer requests be sent directly to the pastors prior to the start of service. We can be reached at Brad@LifePointcommunity.org, James@LifePointcommunity.org, on Facebook and Facebook Messenger at Brad or Jimmy, or through the LifePoint website including the website Chat! Go to http://LifePointcommunity.org/connect/ to check all that out. We will be monitoring for any immediate requests while we are live. Please consider joining us during that time to pray alongside us for the many needs this community has and will continue to have through this epidemic.
Additionally, we will be leading the online church at the church building for services. While we cannot force you to stay home, we do understand those who may feel the need to worship corporately in person. We will be continuing our sterilization routine for the building, and we do ask that anyone who does come to the building for services on Sunday or food distribution on Wednesdays maintain 6 feet of space and refrain from direct contact.
It is important to note that we will not have any children ministries or nursery care at the church during the stay at home order. This is a continuation from last week’s message. The youth are meeting virtually tomorrow at 7 on Instagram. Check out the 4.12 instagram here: https://instagram.com/youth4.12?igshid=1gupi2d2b6ijp. Jessica has been exploring options to keep the youth connected. She will be creating and posting children’s lesson short videos for you to share with your kiddos. All they will require is a piece of paper and something to write with. Stay tuned to the chat for updates soon!
We continue to be a distribution center for food for school aged children. We’ve seen hundreds of packages distributed thus far as well as a fair share of Easter Egg scramble kits for those families. It’s been a beautiful way to bring cheer and hope to those needing help the most. For those that help with the distribution at the church please note that the hours have changed. Please reach out to Stephanie or Jessica for more information. As with all things now adays, we want to limit the amount of people who show up to help so if you have an interest please reach out and we’ll see how we could get you plugged in.
Thank you those of you who faithfully give to keep this ministry going. We want to encourage you to continue to do so. It is through your gifts that we can reach others who are searching with the hope of Christ and to continue to offer the ministries and support that God has directed. We want to remind everyone that you do have the option to give online through Givelify. You can connect to Givelify on our website at http://LifePointcommunity.org/online-giving/. For those who mail or autopay their gifts through their bank please continue to do so. We are checking the mail regularly and continuing to do the custodial items of the church.
We are living through an event that has not been experienced for a hundred years. It is an event that has brought with it uncertainty, frustration, depression and helplessness. But there is hope in all things through Jesus Christ, and we pray that you are encouraged through your interactions with us and the ministries at LPCC. We are with you in mind and spirit. Reach out to us if you need anything and lean on the Lord for your strength.
Philippians 4:6 says “Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Dear friends and family of LifePoint Community Church,
God is good and He is in control. In God’s grace we have had the opportunity to be a distribution center for breakfasts and lunches for children in our community and beyond. We believe that this uniquely positions us to be a beacon of hope in Miamisburg and will allow us to minister to those who need to experience the love of Jesus.
At this point we are still planning to be open during our regular Sunday services, but we strongly urge everyone to do what is in the best interest of you and your family. If you are in a high risk group, we would encourage you to join us via Facebook as our service will go live as usual. For those who do attend on Sunday morning, or who help on Wednesday evenings, we ask that you take proper precautions, such as evaluating your health prior to attending, and maintaining proper distance while at service. This may look like taking your temperature prior to leaving home, conversing and praying in a larger circle than which we would normally stand, sitting with a row or two between yourself/your family and other families, or greeting with a wave rather than a hug.
Due to the increased risk at this time, we are cancelling both nursery and children’s church, as well as youth group meetings. As updates on this virus come in daily, new research and reports have suggested that children and youth can carry this virus and display little to no symptoms, but still infect others; and yet, in some cases, children and youth can catch the virus and become incredibly ill. We want only the best for our families at LifePoint! For families that do attend our worship service, Jessica will have activity packs put together for children to do during the service. We are asking parents to keep your children with you. We are continuing to add extra cleaning and disinfecting as well.
As Stephanie shared within our group chat, we have a new direction with our annual egg scramble! We will be distributing 2 dozen candy and toy filled eggs to families who come to our church for food pick up on Wednesday nights. We will also have these bags available for the families in our church as well. While this is no 15,000 egg scramble, it gives us the opportunity to provide a joyful Easter experience for children in our community. These bags will also contain information on the hope of the resurrection that we have in Christ Jesus. If you have any questions about this outreach, please reach out to Stephanie or Jessica.
Lastly, thank you those of you who faithfully give to keep this ministry going. We want to encourage you to continue to do so. For those who are choosing to worship from home, we want to remind you that you do have the option to give online through Givelify. You can connect to Givelify on our website at http://lifepointcommunity.org/online-giving/
We are continuing to pray for the health and safety of each one of you. We also pray that God will provide each of us with the opportunity to share His goodness with others. 1 Peter 3:15-16 says, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.”

Dear friends and family of LifePoint Community Church,
We want you to know that your pastors and leadership are taking the Coronavirus pandemic very seriously and are prayerfully considering our ministry opportunities as information continues to be released. Like each of you, this is all new to us and we don’t have all of the answers, but we are confident that we serve the One who is sovereign and in control. We believe that the continued spread of the Coronavirus, COVID-19, will provide opportunities for the church to minister to our community in new ways. Please know that at this time our weekly worship services will continue as scheduled.
At this time, we feel that we should use this opportunity to offer the hope of Jesus Christ to as many people that we can. If you don’t feel safe or if you are feeling sick, we want to encourage you to join us via Facebook live. Otherwise, we want to encourage you to continue to join us during our Sunday morning gathering and for our Sunday evening prayer service. In whatever way we may come together in worship, we believe that this could be great opportunity for us to join together and pray for each other, for our nation and our world. These services may open opportunities for others to find hope during this time of uncertainty, and each of us have the chance to speak the words of Christ into the lives of others.
At this point we will be putting some extra precautions into place to help keep people protected and healthy, to the best of our ability. We will be adding extra cleaning and disinfection practices after each service to help kill any viruses and bacteria that may enter the building. We want to encourage each person to take some extra time to practice good hygiene practices such as frequent hand washing and properly covering any sneezing or coughing.
Additionally, we want to let everyone know that we have cancelled our annual Easter egg scramble. As disappointing as this may be, we trust that God will open other avenues of serving our community this Easter season.
We will be examining the Coronavirus situation daily and we will update you of any changes. We are praying for your continued health and safety. Let us know if there is any way in which we can minister to you during this time.
